American Water to Participate in Water Quality Technology Conference

in the 2015 American
Water Works Association's (AWWA) Water
Quality Technology Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah on Nov. 15-19.
On Nov. 17, Dr. Mark LeChevallier, director of Environmental
Stewardship, will give a presentation on “Disinfection Following Main
Breaks” and discuss essential procedures for the disinfection of new and
repaired potable water mains.
On Nov. 18, Matt Corson, manager of Environmental
Compliance and Stewardship, will give a presentation on
“Opportunities and Challenges in Redrafting the Lead and Copper Rule – A
Utility Perspective” that will highlight the recommendations of the
National Drinking Water Advisory Council Lead and Copper Rule Work
Group, a panel on which he served. Corson will also participate in a
poster session entitled “American Water’s Environmental Audit Program”
that will demonstrate how the program plays a key role in helping
American Water maintain its high
environmental compliance record.
Hosted by the AWWA, the conference provides a practical forum for a wide
range of water technology professionals to exchange the latest research
and information.
