California American Water Distributes 2011 Water Quality Reports to Its Southern California Customers

ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--California American Water recently completed 2011 water quality reports for its seven Southern California water systems located in the counties of Los Angeles, San Diego, and Ventura.
The reports show that water quality in each district met state and federal primary drinking water standards for all of its Southern California water systems in 2011. California American Water serves a population of approximately 250,000 people within these areas.
“We are once again pleased to report that the water supplied to our customers in 2011 met all primary drinking water standards required by state and federal regulations,” said Todd Brown, California American Water’s Southern California general manager. “Our teams work hard every day to ensure customers receive the highest quality water possible, and these reports substantiate their dedicated efforts.”
The annual reports compare California American Water’s water quality with standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Public Health. The report also discusses drinking water sources, public health information, substances detected in the water and the levels of those substances. Commonly asked questions and answers concerning drinking water are also included.
The water quality reports, which are updated and distributed annually by California American Water, have been delivered to all customers in Southern California during the month of June. Some reports arrived as a bill insert. However, most were directly mailed to customers' homes or businesses.
The 2011 water quality reports are also available at the company’s website www.californiaamwater.com. Renters who are not direct recipients of a water bill are encouraged to access the reports online.
